Attorney Edward T. McAfee

Background

A background in Georgia with an eye for the law from a young age.  As a young boy in Northwest Georgia Edward was taught the importance of education and hard work by his Elementary School Principal mother.  Edwards father faithfully served Georgia as a State Highway Patrolman for years until his retirement.  Edwards father taught Edward the importance of the law and how it plays a crucial role for all citizens of Georgia.

Education

After high school, Edward attended The University of Georgia for his undergraduate degree, while completing his Bachelor of Arts in 1999 with majors in both Psychology and Political Science.  With his strong upbringing and growing passion for the law, Edward subsequently attended Law School at Mercer, while obtaining his Juris Doctorate in 2002. Immediately upon graduation Edward became a member of The State Bar of Georgia in 2002.

Post Collegiate Experience (Civil Defense)

Edward began his legal career at the respected Defense Firm Carlock, Copeland & Stair, LLP. For over 6 years, Edward learned the techniques and strategies employed by Civil Defense firms, and became successful in civil defense.  Capitalizing on his successes, Edward pivoted and joined Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP (LBBS) in 2009.  While at LBBS Edward continued to build upon his successes but began to see an opportunity to serve those whom have been injured by the insured that he had been defending.

Shifting to A Plaintiff Practice

The shift from defense attorney to plaintiff attorney is not taken lightly, but after encountering injured Georgians, Edward saw an opportunity to help. In 2016 Edward made the difficult decision to leave his partnership and joined The Plaintiff Firm of Michael Hostilo.  Immediately Edward began helping the injured in Georgia and was rapidly successful with his practice at Hostilo.  In December of 2019 Edwards trajectory immediately changed when he himself was seriously injured in a car wreck (Learn More Here).

Creating The Edward T. McAfee Law Firm

After dealing with the injuries, fears, and concerns that are encountered after a serious injury, Edward began contemplating how he might be able to serve his clients better.  Edward knew that there were concerns that kept him up at night, and therefore he could only imagine the concerns that his clients had.  In order to serve the injured throughout Georgia better, Edward formed The Edward T. McAfee Law Firm in 2019. Each day Edward forges ahead to vigorously pursue justice for his clients.  Edward focuses his practice on those that have suffered serious injury, and focuses his practice beyond settlements, and considers himself a trial attorney.  Many injury attorneys focus their efforts on rapid settlements for their clients, but Edward diligently pursues all angles to and through to trial.
