While approaching a bridge…in an instant, I noticed a large piece of concrete that appeared to be hanging from a crane. In the second that I realized the concrete was attached to nothing and that it was indeed falling in front of my car, all I could do was brace for impact.
The impact of the wreck was horrifying. I felt the fear of having absolutely no control, and was concerned that my car would begin to flip end over end. After what seemed like an eternity, my car came to rest in the median, and that is when I felt the immense pain coursing through my head, back and neck. I am grateful to all of the people that stopped to help me that day, and to all of the medical professionals that cared for me that day (and every day since).
